The first times are in from the Silverstone World Superbike round, with all the riders taking to the track for the first two sessions of the weekend. The morning free practice sessions were held under a typical English sky, in other words overcast, luckily without any precipitation. Eugene Laverty and Sylvain Guintoli respectively ended the sessions with the eighth and ninth best times in a small group of riders with very similar pace
