New Piaggio Beverly 310

THE SCOOTER THAT’S BECOME PART OF THE HISTORY OF URBAN MOBILITY ADOPTS A TRULY MODERN NEW ENGINE.

BOOSTED POWER AND TORQUE FOR AN EVEN MORE SATISFYING RIDING EXPERIENCE.

WITH THE NEW EURO 5+ ENGINE, BEVERLY 310 CONFIRMS ITS ROLE AS A STELLAR CROSSOVER THAT COMBINES THE AGILITY AND MANOEUVRABILITY OF A HIGH-WHEEL BIKE WITH THE COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE OF A GREAT GT

Piaggio Beverly has revolutionised the market of medium-power scooters, introducing – back in 2001 – the ground-breaking concept of a scooter with the setting, riding and active safety characteristics typical of the motorbike world.
A vehicle with a winning design and outstanding performance, distinguished by its large-diameter wheels, frame and cycling equipment (unknown in the scooter world up until that moment) which guaranteed hold, control and fun while riding in all conditions.

Beverly’s commercial success has always gone hand-in-hand with constant updates in terms of both style and technology, keeping it firmly at the top of the sales leagues and high on the wish-list of the most progressive metropolitan users.
In 2021, twenty years after its first appearance, Piaggio Beverly got a full makeover and took on an even more modern and contemporary guise while still maintaining intact those distinctive characteristics – the perfect meeting of a sporty high-wheel scooter and a luxury GT – that make it an extremely versatile vehicle, a real crossover ideal for the metropolitan context and for medium/long journeys.

And now Beverly is taking a step forward in terms of performance, switching to a new engine for its medium-power version. The power level rises from 278 to 310 cc – a volume increase obtained by extending the stroke from 63 to just over 70 mm. This means the highly modern and technological single-cylinder injection engine with liquid cooling, Euro 5+, can guarantee a power level of 27.7 hp.
The new engine (on which more than 70% of the components have been renewed compared with the previous version) also produces improved torque values, combining power and smooth delivery for livelier and yet easier and more relaxed riding.
The torque supplied at low speeds, and available as soon as the rider hits the gas, gives a powerful but progressive pickup in the slowdown and restart situations typical of urban riding.
The new powertrain elements include the injector and start-up system, and the carter design that greatly reduces the level of mechanical and drive belt noise; at the same time, a misaligned cylinder has been added to ensure less internal friction. The result is a more powerful and more nimble engine that’s also more efficient.

The new Piaggio Beverly 310 is therefore set to be the ideal scooter for every type of use, from urban commuting – where its agility and easy handling come into their own – to medium- and long-range extra urban tourism, whether alone or with a passenger, where its excellent new levels of power, smooth riding, robust pickup and comfort stand out.

A style inspired by the world of motorcycles
Whether seen from the front or the side, the Beverly 310 design puts the accent on sporting flair with taut, muscular lines running towards a sleek rear that explicitly conjures up the sporty Italian design typical of the car sector.
Piaggio Beverly 310 has two equipment versions: Beverly, with sophisticated, refined finishes, and Beverly S, characterised by a more marked sporty feel.

At the front, the imposing and protective shield stands out, whereas the side view is dominated by taut, muscular lines that run towards a sleek rear directed upwards. Style choices that give Beverly a clear sporty feel, but without chipping away at its unmistakable charm.
In the middle of the shield there’s a vertical element with a “V” shaped slit and a three-dimensional honeycomb grille: a modern take on the characteristic Piaggo “tie” – another detail that adds to the sporty look. At the heart of the handlebar, the LED headlamp significantly increases visibility, to the advantage of active safety. LED technology for the direction indicators and the parking lights which, at the sides of the shield, echo its border to create an illuminated “signature” that makes Beverly immediately recognisable by day as well.
The “command bridge” has a fully digital LCD instrument panel measuring 5.5”. On each side of it there are the handlebar commands that use a logic taken from motorcycles, allowing the vehicle functions to be managed in a comfortable, user-friendly manner.
At the centre of the footrest, the typical central tunnel of Beverly is linked to the under-seat side panels with definite lines, producing a dynamic and yet compact vehicle outline. Continuing towards the rear, the pintail terminates with an original extractor profile – another clear reference to sports design in the car world – that emerges at the core of the rear LED light cluster.

The sporty style comes out in the rims too, with their seven double spokes. The seat, with its detailed finish using double material and double stitching, has two separate height levels for rider and passenger and guarantees easy reach to the ground as well as an excellent level of comfort.
Optimum capacity in the under-seat compartment (fitted with a courtesy light), which can hold a modular helmet along with other items. This has been made possible by positioning the fuel tank in the middle of the footrest – another distinctive feature of Beverly that in turn produces other advantages such as the possibility to refuel without having to stand up from the scooter, and excellent manoeuvrability thanks to the optimum centralisation of the weights.
The load capacity is completed by a handy luggage rack that has built-in grips for the passenger, a storage compartment in the shield cover (also containing a USB port for recharging mobile devices), and a practical foldaway bag hook.

First class equipment
The technological equipment on Piaggio Beverly 310 stands up to any comparison: the instrument panel with LCD display – with the digital speedometer and rev counter scale clearly visible in the middle – shows you the total and partial mileometer, air temperature, digital clock, fuel level and coolant temperature indicators, ice risk icon, lowered side stand icon and “service” icon. What’s more, a wealth of journey details can be selected using the MODE button on the right-hand command block: maximum speed, average speed, instantaneous consumption, average consumption, autonomy and battery charge status.
The indicator lights monitor all the functions (“injection check”, oil pressure, ABS and immobiliser activation, dipped headlight activation and direction indicator activation).
The keyless system lets you switch on the motor without needing a traditional key, making operations like start-up, the opening of the seat and fuel cover, and the engagement of the steering lock much easier as they can be implemented via the remote control even when it’s in your pocket.

A refined chassis
The chassis of Beverly 310 is an unquestionable reference marker.
The twin cradle frame in highly resistant steel tubes and pressed sheet metal is combined at the front with a Showa fork with 35 mm diameter rods. At the rear a pair of Showa double-acting shock absorbers and a helicoidal spring with a pre-load with 5 adjustment positions, purposely developed for this model to guarantee optimal absorption of the irregularities in the road surface and at the same time ensure a precise, neutral vehicle setting.
Thanks to this load-bearing structure borrowed from the motorcycle sector, and the large wheels with light alloy rims (16” on the front and 14” on the back), Beverly 310 guarantees riding comfort and road grip at biking level, whilst still maintaining its notable agility and manoeuvrability. The large tyres (110/70 at the front and 140/70 at the back) ensure stability at any pace.
Active safety is handled by ASR traction control and the powerful braking system, fitted with a 2-channel ABS anti-lock system as standard. On the front, the large (300 mm – the largest in this category) semi-floating disc stands out, with a twin-piston floating calliper and a 12.7 mm pump – characteristics that translate into powerful, modular braking. At the rear, there’s a 240 mm disc.

Equipment and colours
Piaggio Beverly confirms its two distinct natures: the more sophisticated one, represented by Beverly 310, and the more gutsy and sporty one that comes out in Beverly 310 S.
Piaggio Beverly 310 offers a new range of glossy colours - Bianco Luna and Nero Cosmo, combined with finishes with a metallic hue.
Piaggio Beverly S, on the other hand, has sporty matt finishes. Four dedicated colour variants: the new Grigio Mercurio, plus Nero Meteora, Verde Jungle and Blu Zaffiro.

Accessories
For the entire new Piaggio Beverly range, there’s a series of accessories to further enhance the degree of comfort and versatility during daily use.
The 36-litre top box, painted in the same colour as the vehicle and fitted with a comfort backrest in the same colour and material as the seat, can hold a full-face helmet or a full jet helmet with visor. The 52-litre top box takes the load capacity to the maximum, and has two options that can be purchased separately: a cover painted the same colour as the vehicle, and a backrest in the same colour and material as the seat. The range also includes the handy keyless top box that can be opened and closed with the remote control even from your pocket. There’s a 52-litre version too.

Urban windshield: made of shock-resistant, shatterproof methacrylate, it guarantees optimum protection against the elements. Painstaking care has gone into the design which, along with the finishes, blends perfectly with the vehicle.
Top fairing: the smallest top fairing (fitted as standard on the 400 HPE version) provides wind protection while at the same time highlighting the energy and sporty character of the new Beverly. Also available in a smoked glass version.

There’s a selection of purposely designed winter accessories as well, to ensure optimum comfort in the cold weather:

Comfort+ heated seat: with a heated module built into the rider’s seat and adjustable at three intensity levels.
Comfort+ leg cover: «high-end» cover to maximise riding comfort whatever the season. Designed following the shape of the vehicle, water-resistant, modular (easy to take apart), it has a TPU outer layer and an innovative anti-billowing system with stiffener plates.
Heated hand grips: increase riding comfort when it’s cold. Can be set at four different temperature levels.
Heated accessory management module: allows all three heated accessories (seat, leg cover and hand grips) to be connected simultaneously, managing their activation (including heat intensity adjustment) directly via the handlebar commands thanks to the Piaggio MIA system (optional; standard on the 400 HPE version).

Mechanical seat-handlebar anti-theft device: practical and safe, it blocks the rotation of the handlebar with a system that anchors it to the vehicle frame (near the seat).
The range of accessories is completed with waterproof and thermal protection for the hands, the electronic anti-theft system and the outdoor vehicle cover.

Finally, the accessories wouldn’t be complete without the PIAGGIO MIA connectivity system, which comes as standard on the 400 HPE version. It allows you to connect your smartphone to the electronic system on the Piaggio Beverly via Bluetooth, offering exclusive functions for an even more fulfilling and fun riding experience.
PIAGGIO MIA and the new Piaggio app are specifically designed for connecting iOS or Android mobile devices to the new Piaggio Beverly, to take full advantage of the potential offered by the new digital instrument panel. This is something entirely new in the high-wheel medium-power scooter segment – further proof of the technological equipment that the new Beverly can count on.
Once you’ve connected your smartphone to Piaggio Beverly (associating it with the vehicle via the dedicated Piaggio app, downloadable from App Store or Google Play), the instrument panel will display all the notifications regarding incoming calls and messages. The system enables you to manage phone calls via the specific connectivity button on the right-hand command block, and to use the voice commands of your smartphone to make calls or play music, activating a playlist.
Apart from the call/music management functions that exploit the digital instrument panel of the vehicle, with the PIAGGIO MIA multimedia platform you can use the dedicated app to see another very detailed set of information items on your smartphone: information about the journey made and the working state of the vehicle, as well as a handy system for saving the position when you switch off the panel so it will be easier to find your scooter again later, even in the most chaotic areas of the city. The app can also indicate the engine revolutions, instantaneous power and torque delivered, instantaneous consumption and average consumption, battery voltage, and an evaluation of your riding style. All the data are recorded by the app and can be consulted directly on your smartphone via recapitulatory statistics for every journey and intuitive infographics. Thanks to the app, via your smartphone you can also activate the dipped headlights or use the find me and follow me functions (activating the direction indicators and the horn respectively) to easily find your vehicle even in the busiest car parks.
