The Aprilia RS 660 keeps winning in British Superbike

EDOARDO COLOMBI SUCCEEDS ON THE FINAL STRETCH IN THE SPORTBIKE CATEGORY AT CADWELL PARK

Defending Aprilia RS 660 Trophy champion, Edoardo Colombi, took his seventh win of the season in the Pirelli National SportBike category of British Superbike at Cadwell Park.

On one of the most difficult tracks of the United Kingdom, Colombi once again confirmed his outstanding feeling with the Aprilia RS 660, in spite of the fact that it was an entirely new circuit for him. From the free practice sessions, Edoardo demonstrated his potential, doing his best time on a wet track. In qualifying, held in dry track conditions, he took the fifth spot on the starting grid.

The race was particularly demanding, red flagged on the second lap due to an accident which Colombi managed to avoid by a hair. At the second start, the Italian rider immediately fell in behind his direct rival in the overall standings, managing to overtake him on the final lap to clinch his seventh win of the season. Thanks to this result, Edoardo Colombi maintains his leadership in the championship with an advantage of 4.5 points over the second-place rider.

A true test of maturity and strength for the Italian rider, who once again confirms how the Aprilia Trophy championships represent an excellent path to breed new talent in the world of motorcycle racing.

EDOARDO COLOMBI
Another brand new track for me, tackled in wet conditions with the best time in free practice. The fifth time I did in qualifying forced the team and me to do an aggressive warm-up session, during which we had to find the right pace for the race. In spite of the accident in the opening laps and the red flag, I managed to maintain a fast and consistent pace, culminating in a winning overtake on the final lap. Once again, team Gradara Corse and the RS 660 proved to be fantastic, but a good deal of the credit goes to Aprilia. Without the help from the racing department and the parts provided to us in record time, it would have been impossible to maintain the lead in the SportBike category."
