Aprilia Racing renews the challenge at Sachsenring

ON TRACK IN GERMANY VIÑALES AND ESPARGARÓ, BACK FROM THE INJURY AT ASSEN

Less than a week after the TT at Assen, Aprilia Racing makes a stop in Germany before the summer break. On track, for the ninth race of the season, will be present Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaró, who will undergo a medical check-up to review his physical condition.

Coming off a podium finish in the sprint race at Assen, Maverick Viñales is ready to get back into the game at a track where he has already taken two top-class podiums. Aleix Espargaró, who missed the Assen race due to injury, wants to return to the track to assess his physical condition. The Spaniard, who suffered a fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his right hand during the sprint, has been undergoing magnetotherapy in recent days with the goal of returning to action at Sachsenring.

The Sachsenring Circuit is known for its tight corners, almost exclusively left-handed, winding along its 3.670 meters, making it one of the slowest circuits on the calendar, with a counterclockwise layout.

ALEIX ESPARGARÓ
"I'm still not okay with my hand; it's a really complicated injury because it affects the hand on the throttle. I have limited mobility and it hurts a lot, but I want to give it a try. It's a very particular track with a counter-clockwise layout. I'll continue my therapy until Thursday and then I'll arrive at the Sachsenring at the last moment trying to take part in FP1."

MAVERICK VIÑALES
"Sachsenring is not one of my favourite tracks, but I'm confident that we can do a good job. I've achieved several podiums and pole positions in Germany; I'm carrying the spirit from Assen with me, motivated and determined to do well before the summer break."
