ESPARGARÓ, VIÑALES, AND SAVADORI PRESENT IN ASSEN
After a three-week break, Aprilia Racing gets back to work on the Assen TT Circuit. All three Aprilia riders will be on the track: Aleix Espargaró, Maverick Viñales, and Lorenzo Savadori as a wild card.
Aleix Espargaró heads to Assen with sights set on the podium, on a track where he took third last year and where he holds the race fast lap, with a time of 1:32.500, set in 2022. Maverick Viñales, who took his first podium with Aprilia there in 2022, will also continue pursuing the top spots.
For Lorenzo Savadori, who will continue development on the RS-GP24, this will be his third wild card of the season, after Jerez and Mugello.
The Assen TT Circuit, nicknamed “The Cathedral of Speed”, is a historic World Motorcycle GP Championship track and has hosted the Grand Prix since 1949.
Assen is famous for its technical and demanding layout, made up of 18 turns – 6 left-handers and 12 right-handers.
ALEIX ESPARGARÓ
"Assen is a circuit that I like a lot and where I have achieved good results. The matter of the weather will be fundamental because it changes often. In these weeks of break, I took advantage of the time to train extensively, and I am ready to battle for the podium."
MAVERICK VIÑALES
"It’s a track that I love. The layout in Assen is spectacular and it’s a great pleasure to race there. We’ll strive to give one hundred percent, I’m confident that we’ll be able to do a good job. I’m ready to close out the Dutch GP with a good performance."
LORENZO SAVADORI
"I can’t wait to get out on the track for my third wild card of the season. We’ll try the new solutions that we have been working on since Jerez and we’ll try to get them to work as best as they can.”
