BACK ON THE HISTORIC BUGATTI TRACK: TECHNICAL, DEMANDING, AND WITH UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER

GOOD SENSATIONS FOR MAVERICK AND ALEIX, READY TO TAKE THE FINAL STEP

The 4,190 metres of the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, France, will host the fourth round of the 2023 MotoGP season as well as GP numbero 1000 in history. Asphalt rich with tradition and charm, enhanced by numerous fans at every event, with a layout comprising harsh braking sections and stop-and-go turns, often accompanied by variable weather conditions.

Aprilia Racing is arriving in Le Mans with confirmation of an undoubtedly competitive technical package, further fine-tuned on the day of testing following the Jerez de la Frontera GP. Aleix and Maverick have reaped far less than deserved in the initial part of the season, a trend that they intend to invert as soon as possible.

On the RNF team, the absence of Miguel Oliveira will be strongly felt, forced to skip this round after an unfortunate crash during the race in Jerez. Subbing for him will be Aprilia tester Lorenzo Savadori, coming alongside Raùl Fernandez, fresh from surgery to solve compartment syndrome problems.

"In Jerez, we demonstrated our speed once again, but we also know what is keeping us from fully exploiting it in the race. Le Mans is a rather particular and difficult circuit, but I am confident that we have the potential to be among the leaders there too. Aprilia is working hard to continue developing the RS-GP. Even in the recent tests, we found some improvements. We don’t need anything drastic because the bike is already working extremely well, so it’s just a matter of a few small details in the right areas."

Maverick
"We really worked hard during these first weekends. The bike had an extremely good base, we tried to improve the weak points, and to be honest, I left Jerez with the feeling of having taken another step forward. It is not easy. The level is so high that all it takes is starting a row ahead or behind to ride an entirely different race. I think the time has come to exploit everything we have learned up to now."
