SECOND AND THIRD ROW FOR THE APRILIAS ON THE SACHSENRING

ALEIX CRASHES IN FP4 BUT MAKES A BRILLIANT RECOVERY
MAVERICK INCISIVE IN BOTH PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING

The 52°C recorded on the asphalt made the sessions on the Sachsenring particularly taxing, especially in the afternoon. Teams and riders will also have to deal with this situation tomorrow during the 30 laps scheduled for the German race.

At the end of qualifying, Aleix took home a good spot on the second row with the fourth-place time, less than two tenths behind the leader and just 90 thousandths from a spot on the front row. From this starting position, no result can be ruled out for the Spanish rider, who also fell victim to a crash (without consequences) during the FP4 session.

Maverick had a good day of practice, first going straight through to Q2 and then finishing the job with the ninth time which places him on the third row of the starting grid. Although there is still room for perfection when it comes to his feeling with the RS-GP, it places him increasingly in a position to fully exploit his and the technical package’s potential.

ALEIX ESPARGARÓ
"Fourth place is a good result. At the end of the day, we are all rather close. Unfortunately, in FP4 I made a small mistake that cost me a bit of feeling in the fourth sector and it happened just before qualifying. We’re looking pretty good in terms of pace but tomorrow will be difficult for everyone. Thirty laps are a lot and, with these temperatures, having some tyre left in the finale will be fundamental."

MAVERICK VIÑALES
"Consistency is getting very good but we can’t stop working. We’ll try to take another step forward tomorrow. The potential is there but I feel like I have a bit more margin in a couple situations. The race could be a good opportunity for an interesting result. I think our pace might let us finish out this weekend well."
